Product Description

«Write away! And you will see how soon you begin to get a clear picture of yourself.» Through  these words in Zeno’s conscience Dr S. suggests the main character to write about his own states of mind and life as part of a course of treatment. But there are so many reasons to look at yourself in the mirror and write about yourself, as much as the results coming from this process; from writing diaries to memoir, from easy-peasy journalism to the more canonic autobiography. More than a literary genre, writing about yourself is an approach to the action of writing; telling about life while writing it, starting from us and embracing everything that surrounds us. Landscapes, objects, ancestors, everyday life and dreams, it doesn’t matter if you write pages for a secret diary or for an article to post on the web.
This course will be a journey inside and through yourself, where you will put yourself on the line (literally) firsthand to reevaluate the past, look at the present with recognition and trust in the future. You’ll find out that all this is also a great way to train to write fiction. Because reality is often stranger than fiction and, as everybody knows, one of the first tips aspiring writers are given is to write about what they know.

During classes, there will be time to play, research, read, confront and experiment. But most of all there will be a lot of writing, together with people who share the same passions as you.

Classes start in April and last three months.

How does Classi-fy work?
You’ll have to follow a weekly timetable of appointments, which can be video lessons or notes to read. You’ll have deadlines to write and share your homework on Google Drive. You’ll read what your classmates write and you’ll be able to comment or receive feedback on what you write. You’ll be able to meet each other and talk about the lessons on the forum – ok, we already know you won’t only talk about that, but that’s part of the fun. Sometimes your teacher will post a video in which he publicly analyses the work of the class, but you’ll receive your personal evaluation in private.

What are the technical skill necessary to take part to the course? Do I have to install a special program on my computer?
You’ll mainly work online, therefore all you need is the internet connection. We’ll use Google Drive to share documents.

What does it happen at the end of the course?
The class will come to Scuola Holden, in Turin, in order to attend the final lesson and collect your diploma. Eventually you’ll meet everyone and, if everything is right, you’ll have a beer together in Borgo Dora to celebrate.
